Insulation contractor services in Castle Rock, CO

Reliable Castle Rock Insulation Services is an insulation contractor in Castle Rock, CO, with 16 services for drafty rooms, a hot upstairs, cold floors and a power bill that keeps climbing. Price and schedule mostly turn on the size of the space, what's already up there and what has to be fixed first, and the estimate I write on site gives you your own figure.

  • Spray foam insulation fills the wall cavities and roof between exposed wooden framing in an unfinished structure.

    Spray foam insulation

We spray foam that expands into gaps and seals air as it insulates, which pays off most in attics where the ductwork runs.

  • A worker in protective gear sprays foam insulation onto the walls of a timber-framed attic.

    Attic insulation

If the upstairs runs hot in summer and cold in winter, we seal the attic's gaps and bring the insulation up to an even depth.

  • A worker in a pink shirt blows loose-fill insulation across an attic floor beneath exposed wooden rafters.

    Blown-in insulation

Blown-in insulation is loose fill we blow through a hose, the usual way to top up an attic floor or fill closed wall cavities.

  • Foam insulation fills the exposed wall cavities of a bright unfinished room with large windows and open ceiling joists.

    Home insulation

For homeowners who want the whole house looked at, we check the attic, walls, floors and crawl space and insulate where the heat actually escapes.

  • A worker in protective gear guides a hose to remove loose insulation from between attic floor joists.

    Insulation removal

When old insulation is soaked or full of droppings, we bag it out and clean up so new material doesn't sit on the problem.

  • Crawl space with a white plastic vapor barrier covering the floor, reflective insulation on the walls, and exposed joists overhead.

    Crawl space insulation

Cold floors over a crawl space usually come from the space below, so we insulate its walls or the floor above to keep that cold out.

  • Unfinished room with brown-faced insulation on one wall and pink fiberglass batts between metal studs on another.

    Wall insulation

We fill wall cavities with insulation, blowing it into finished walls through small holes or filling open walls during a remodel or addition.

  • White spray foam seals the underside of a roof between exposed wooden rafters, with a small loop of yellow wire visible.

    Air sealing services

Air sealing means closing the gaps that let air through around doors, outlets, plumbing and wiring, so the drafts stop and insulation can do its job.

  • Basement with pink fiberglass insulation fitted between ceiling joists above a concrete floor.

    Basement insulation

We insulate basement walls and the band where the house sits on the foundation, for finished basements and ones you plan to finish.

  • Exposed wooden framing and pipes surrounded by thick, uneven white closed-cell spray foam insulation.

    Closed-cell foam insulation

Closed-cell foam is dense foam that also blocks moisture, so we use it on crawl space and basement walls where dampness is a worry.

  • A worker in goggles, respirator, and gloves sprays foam insulation into a wooden wall cavity.

    Open-cell foam insulation

Open-cell foam is the lighter, softer spray foam, a good choice inside walls and under the roof where you also want to quiet outside noise.

  • A worker in protective gear sprays foam insulation into framed wall cavities in a building under construction.

    Commercial insulation

Property managers call us for offices, shops and metal buildings, and we insulate them to the commercial standards I learned on big jobs.

  • A crawl space has white vapor barrier lining the floor and foundation piers, with a dehumidifier and drain visible.

    Crawl space vapor barrier

We lay a heavy plastic sheet across the crawl space dirt and seal its seams, so ground moisture stays out of the framing and floor.

  • A crawl space has shiny white vapor barrier covering the floor and piers beneath large silver ducts.

    Vapor barrier installation

In walls, ceilings and basements, we install a vapor barrier on the right side of the insulation so damp air doesn't condense inside it.

  • A worker in protective gear sprays foam insulation along the rafters and walls of an attic.

    Attic air sealing

Before insulation goes into your attic, we seal the gaps around the hatch, can lights and pipes, so warm air stops escaping through the ceiling.

  • Pink fiberglass insulation covers an attic floor beneath exposed wooden rafters, with large silver HVAC ducts overhead.

    Retrofit insulation

For a house that's already built and lived in, we add insulation to the attic, walls and floors while working around your finished rooms.

Why homeowners call us

  • Problems fixed before insulation

We deal with leaks, wet material and droppings first, so the insulation you pay for isn't covering up a problem underneath it.

  • The owner writes your estimate

I come out to every estimate myself and point out what I'm seeing, so you hear it from the person responsible for the job.

  • Even depth, open eave vents

We keep insulation deep out to the edges and leave the eave vents clear, so the attic can still breathe and the edges aren't left thin.

  • Answers as often as you need

I'll explain what's going on in your house as many times as it takes, without a sales push, so you can decide clearly.

  • Our own crew in your attic

Our own installers do the work instead of subcontractors, so the people in your attic answer directly to me.

  • Homes and commercial buildings

We work on a single attic just as readily as an office or a metal shop, with the same order of work on each.

Your insulation questions answered

How much does attic insulation cost in Castle Rock?

It depends on the attic's size, how many inches are already up there and whether old insulation or air leaks have to be dealt with first, so I give you a figure after I've seen it. Pulling out soaked or droppings-filled material adds to the price, and so does a hatch, can lights or ductwork that need sealing. I come out, look and write it up at no charge.

Is spray foam worth the extra cost over blown-in insulation?

Usually not for an attic, because sealing the gaps and topping up with blown-in insulation does most of the work for less money. Spray foam costs more but seals air while it insulates, so it earns its price when the ductwork runs through the attic. I'll tell you which fits your house once I've seen it.

How long will the insulation crew be in my attic, and do we have to leave?

That depends on the size of the space and how much has to be fixed first, and I'll tell you how long we expect to be there when I write up your estimate. With blown-in insulation, most families stay home. Spray foam is different, because you, the kids and pets stay out until the foam maker's re-entry time is up, the point when it's safe to come back in, and I'll go over that with you before we schedule.

Does an insulation contractor need a license to work in Castle Rock?

Yes, the Town of Castle Rock requires every business working there to hold a business license, and contractors also need a valid license, insurance and registration with the city before they can apply for a building permit. The insurance part means a certificate of liability coverage, plus workers' compensation where it applies. We're licensed and insured, and it's fair to ask any contractor to show you theirs.

Do I need a permit to add insulation in Castle Rock?

It may, and the city's Building Division is the office to ask, at 720-733-3527, because its residential permit list names work like re-roofing and furnaces and doesn't settle insulation. Any permit has to be approved before work starts. Before we begin, we check whether the city or the county covers your address, and when a permit is needed we apply for it and set up the inspections.

Do you guarantee your insulation work?

Yes, your satisfaction, guaranteed. What stands behind it is the order we work in, fixing leaks and wet or dirty material before anything new goes in, and the walk-through at the end, so you see what you paid for.

Should old insulation be removed before adding new insulation?

Only if it's soaked, matted or full of droppings, because new insulation laid on top just hides the problem. If it's dry and clean, we usually seal the gaps through it and add more on top.

How do Castle Rock soils affect crawl space and basement insulation?

They don't change the insulation itself, but an older regional study of this part of Douglas County found clays that swell when wet and windblown soils that can settle when wetted or loaded. That's ground that reacts to water, so when I look at a crawl space or basement I check for moisture before we insulate, because insulation laid over a damp problem only hides it.

What happens after you call

  1. Call or send a message

Call us at (720) 408-0974 or send a message through the contact form and tell us what's going on, whether it's a hot upstairs, a cold floor over the garage or a drafty room. We get back to you within one business day to set a time that works for you.

  2. I look it over with you

I come out myself and go through the attic, walls or crawl space with you, flashlight in hand, pointing out what I see as I go. Then I write up what I'd do and what has to be dealt with first. The estimate is free, and there's no obligation to go ahead.

  3. We do the work in order

Once you're ready, we take care of any permit your job needs. Then our own crew does the work, starting with the problems I found, like wet material or open gaps, and only then adding insulation, so nothing new ends up hiding a leak or a problem underneath it.

  4. We walk the finished job

When the crew is done, I walk the job with you so you can see exactly what went in and where it went. Ask anything you want while we're up there, because I'd rather you understand your own house than simply take my word for it.
